The gospel of Jesus offers real solutions to the problems of human fallenness.  We know, of course, that He came to deal with our great problem of sin, but too often, we stop there.  He also wants to heal our alienation from each other by teaching us to love one another as our own self; He calls us away from isolation to become neighbors of each other.  He wants us to be His ambassadors of compassion to all the hurting we see; and He wants us to see the hurting clearer.  He invites us to bear one another’s burdens.  He calls us away from worry to trust.  He calls the weary to rest of soul.  He calls the alone to conversation and communion with His Father.  He offers Himself as the Bread and Water of life.  He offers Himself as Resurrection when we face death.

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10a (ESV)
