The Spirit goes into all kinds of areas where He may not be welcomed or invited. All space is His space. Those who would not welcome the Spirit do so that they may retain for themselves that which is not theirs. Hospitality to the Spirit calls for surrender and is the secret of joy. He brings life to where death formerly reigned. When I relinquish my false claims to “my” space, I can be at peace with myself and the presence of the Spirit. To welcome the Spirit is the key to all spiritual formation that will follow.
