All the sin in the whole world was funneled into the body and onto the sinless soul of Jesus, as He underwent His hard baptism on the cross.  It was like dung spread on a white cloth, like septic flowing into pure clear water, like violence being perpetrated on a gentle soul, like bitter hate being poured out on perfect love!  Our words and analogies fail to describe what Christ underwent at the Place of the Skull.  He let evil play itself out on His body and soul, and by it, He defeated evil and saved the world from the horrors of death.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
