“He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love” Ephesians 1:4 (NRSV). He does not call us so we can go to Heaven when we die. He calls us to be holy and blameless in love in this present world. He calls us to be a holy light to those around us by the way we live unconditional love. This is more than morality. This is more than trying to keep the Ten Commandments. The law does not declare us blameless. There is no blamelessness except in how we live and pursue love. May the Spirit who makes us holy empower us to live out our calling.
