I like this quote from Richard Parrott.  He said, “You cannot think your way to holiness.”  He is so right.  Holiness involves a disciplined rejection of known sin within our lives.  It involves the surrender of our deepest self.  It involves living out that surrender in the face of temptation, opposition and heavy trials.  It is making sure that there are no idols that have wedged their way into our behaviors.  It is a way of life in how we relate to our God.  It expresses itself by what we do.

“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy’.” 1 Peter 1:15-16 (NIV)
