All the tribes of Israel had their flags, banners and standards (Nu 2 & 10). The exiles are pictured returning to the land, joyfully marching under a flag (Isa 49 & 62).  The lover of the Song of Songs said, “His banner over me is love” (2:4).  The Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Lord of the whole earth, is reclaiming all ethnic groups under the banner of Love!  The cross was the standard that lifted Jesus up.  He is the Lifted-Banner that draws all people to Himself (John 12:32). This is the welcoming banner we march under, the standard we raise, the flag to which all are invited to commit allegiance.

The Master, GOD, says: “Look! I signal to the nations, I raise my flag to summon the people. Here they’ll come: women carrying your little boys in their arms, men carrying your little girls on their shoulders….Walk out of the gates. Get going! Get the road ready for the people. Build the highway. Get at it! Clear the debris, hoist high a flag, a signal to all peoples!” Isaiah 49:22 & 62:10 (Message)
