Our failure to deal with hidden pain will most always cause us to inflict that pain on another. To suffer in silence does not mean that others are not affected. Our social connections are changed in positive or negative ways by how we deal with our hidden pain. We who have been wounded can be agents of healing. In some grand mysterious way, God uses our pain to heal others. He uses our testimony of triumph as a balm for the soul for those who thought there would be no healing for them, but find now that there can be.
Father, heal us, so that we can be healing agents. Teach us, the wounded, how to pour wine and oil on the wounds of those around us. We pray this in the name of the one who was wounded for us. Amen!
