“If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them” (Psalm 62:10). We should be grateful if we have the barest of necessities of life. For some, life affords much more than this. If this is the case, we are accountable for it in our stewardship. It can be a pitfall if our heart gets tangled up with how much we have. Believers should remember that God owns everything we possess. If our heart is set on our Lord, then what is in our hands is in His hands to dispense as He will.
