Changing context and circumstances in our lives expand how we hear the biblical story and understand the Scriptures. When we are going through times of testing we see things in the Bible that we did not understand on bright, sunlit days. This is one of the reasons why the Scripture’s ability to teach us is inexhaustible. The Spirit who inspired the Book for a context so long ago can inspire us in the context in which we find ourselves at this moment.
“I sought Your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your word. I considered my ways and turned my feet to Your testimonies.” Psalm 119:58-59 (NASB)
