As an observer of life, I have witnessed those who should have become a ball of dysfunctional goo, given the chaos in which they grew up, but somehow, they became functional, healthy and whole. Others in the same circumstances were destroyed. We have no control over what life hands us from DNA to environment. We do have control over what we become as we act responsibly. God’s grace is ready to help us forgive, release and move on. His grace can enable us to see ourselves and allow ourselves to be reshaped by the unconditional love of our Lord. Yielding to grace breaks generational chains and brings us to a new day.
Father, heal us that we may become healing agents. Amen.
