When we make sin normal we shut off the sick from healing and the broken from wholeness.  We acknowledge our sin by confession, not to make it the norm for others, but to bring about our own healing.  Jesus comes to us where we are; He grants His healing touch, but remember, He said, on more than one occasion, “Go and sin no more” (John 5:14, 8:11).  He accepts us as we are and transforms us into His likeness.  We come to him fettered and He leads us into glorious freedom.  He has come to lead us out of our former sins into a place of healing and new beginning.

Jesus spoke these words to her, “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more” (John 8:11).
