“Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning.” The Lord hears more than the words of our prayer, He hears the suffering behind the prayer; He hears the deep agony and pain from which the words spring. The God who went to Gethsemane and groaned with soul pain Himself, feels our pain and hears our pains; He hears what gives nuance to our words beyond the words themselves. Take courage, my sister and brother; our God hears groans with words and He hears groans without words.
“Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning. Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray.” Psalm 5:1-2 (NASB)
