The church is not the place we huddle to name the many sins of the many sinners. It is not where we grandstand to condemn the already condemned. It is not the place we gather to rail against the ruling class. It is where we come to pray, “Forgive us our trespasses,” to be taught the ways of Jesus, so that we do not fall back into those sins. It is the place we renew ourselves in His kind of love that takes us back into the world to hug the unhuggable and love the unlovable. It is the place we depart from to go about each day, humbly meeting human need with the tender touch of Jesus and pointing them to the Savior.
