God does not always get His way in the world and in individual lives. That is the risk He took when He gave us freedom of choice. And to say that He makes all of our choices for us, taking absolute control, turns rationality on its head. To say, “Thy will be done on earth as in heaven,” includes our participation in advancing the will of God on earth. All of our lives are to be brought into harmony with God’s will by the choices we make. That God would have His way in our lives is the one thing we should want the most. That requires choice, repentance, cleansing, surrender, obedience, discipline, soul-searching and cries for mercy!
