He who always was, the Son of the Father, was born of a Virgin. He was born into the human family so we can be born into the heavenly family: the household of faith, the family of God. We are adopted. We are born from above. Jesus is our Elder Brother. He came to us from the Father and is our Way to the Father.
“Behold what manner of love the Father bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God” (I Jn 3:1).
