Elijah heard some loud noises in the opening of a cave, but it was not God speaking. He finally heard God in a whisper (1 Kings 19:11-12). We are surrounded with lots of noise. Noises of the world keep us from hearing the whispering voice. The only way we can hear the voice that whispers is to be totally quiet. Distracting noises must be silenced. Tune out the world’s racket. God is not given over to yelling. He does whisper though.
