The cross is the crown and the glory. We do not think of it that way. We think the glory comes in the parade after the victory is won, then you wear the crown. Jesus referred to the cross as His glorification. He wore the crown of thorns in agony. Jesus by “the suffering of death was crowned with glory,” and He “brings many sons to glory” (Heb 2:9-10). Saints through the ages have revealed the glory of God, even in their sometimes horrific deaths.
Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus *said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him; if God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately.” John 13:31-32 (NASB)
