If the recipe says that it takes 25 minutes to bake the bread then do not try to change it to 12. It takes time for a child to move to adolescence and then to adulthood. It takes time for a citizen of the world to acclimate to being a citizen of the kingdom of the heavens. It takes time for the disciple to be a like the Master. Practice the spiritual disciplines. They lead to maturity. Do not rush the process. You are on God’s schedule and not on yours.
“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.” James 5:7-8 (NASB)
