We turn away from what our Shepherd turns toward.  We turn to better pictures, avoiding the ones that cause us pain and call us to sacrificial action.  We see the multitudes as costly mouths to feed, and He sees them as sheep without a shepherd.  Because our resources are so limited, we want to send them away.  The Great Shepherd takes what we have, blesses it, and there is more than enough.  He must be teaching us a life lesson!

When it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, “This place is desolate and the hour is already late; so send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”  But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!” Matthew 14:15-16 (NASB)
