The gifts God has given you are your call to ministry and purpose. You find meaning when you are using your gifts; you are confused about the purpose of your life when you are not serving with your gifts. Have you not found that to be true? Purpose is always about helping other people; so are the gifts. “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other” (1 Corinthians 12:7 NLT). Most of our gifts are not spectacular; we minimize God’s work in our lives and so insult the Giver. That is a problem of pride. Humble service is the cure. We are made in God’s image; His image bearers are servants. Jesus came not to be served but to serve. You are gifted for Christlike practices; there is meaning in that.
