“I love you” can come from a heart that really does. Sometimes the words can come from those who really do not. “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tight to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other” (Romans 12:9-10, NLT). Love shows itself in more than affection; it shows itself with honor and respect. This means that we revere those we love. We give them a special places in our thoughts, and then in how we treat them.
