We can all gather eternal fruit. We do it by planting eternal seeds in the hearts and minds of folks in our sphere of influence. We do it by acts of kindness and works of mercy. We do it by showing grace and having true concern. It is prayer and care. It is visiting and listening. It is a verbal witness and a silent deed. Someday we will see the fruit in the persons we touched, who are in the Eternal City because of our influence. And we will give God glory that we were laborers together in His vineyard.
“The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each. For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:8-9 (NRSV)
