“He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3). We ask Him to lead us and guide us (Psalm 31:3) and to forgive our sins (Psalm 79:9) for His name’s sake. “Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known” (Psalm 106:8 KJV). “For the LORD will not cast away his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you a people for himself” (1 Samuel 12:22 NRSV). “For the sake of His name”, He does all of this and more. Why? He has taken upon Himself a vested interest in our redemption. He has put His name on the line. Grace without measure! Love unfathomable! Faithfulness beyond comprehension! Don’t let His name down.
