“So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22 (ESV). If you are only fleeing, you are apt to not run too far. If you are fleeing one thing to pursue another, you will do well. Flee sin and “pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace”. Running after righteousness is running after justice, what is right for my fellow man. If we are running after faith in God, if we want all of our actions to be done for love of God and neighbor, and if we pursue peace with our fellow humans, we will have little time to run after the forbidden. The purpose of life is always bigger than what you do not do. The beauty of life is seen is running after the highest and best.
