“God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” 1 Corinthians 1:9 (NRSV). In the Greek, fellowship includes the ideas of participation and sharing. God invites us to have communion and fellowship with His Eternal Son. But more than that, we participate in His mission (John 20:21) and share as His joint heirs (Romans 8:17). We also participate in His sufferings (I Peter 4:13). We are seated with Him in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). In this fellowship of solidarity, we died with Him and we are raised with Him (Romans 3:6-5). Fellowship with the Son is a comprehensive and life changing union!
