A childhood friend said to me one time, “Do you remember throwing rocks at us?” My reply was “No”. He said, “Well, I remember it!” I have never forgotten the lessons of that short conversation. We do remember stones thrown our way. If you were ever rejected, discriminated against, hated, abused sexually, abused physically, put down, cast aside, ridiculed or hurt by one of a thousand stones, you know it and remember it. There are those in our world with whom we must identify and feel their pain if they would ever hear about our Christ. Our patient love can prepare the way for others to hear of His love. Folks can’t believe our statement, “God loves you” if we don’t love them.
