It is possible to be all alone and not feel lonely. It is also possible to be with another and yet feel lonely. The reasons are as complex as our relationships and our personalities. Christ came to connect us to His and our Father through the companionship of the Holy Spirit. This we cultivate through prayer, Bible reading and devotional times. We also need a connection to other persons. We can cultivate by conversation, listening, loving and being together. Both our relationship with God and with our nearest neighbors require an investment of ourselves in these relationships.
Father, teach us that You are always with us. Teach us how to connect better with those around us in Your kind of ways. Amen.
