Fear is the thief of blessing. It pulls us back from risks. It closes the door to opportunity. It keeps love from blossoming. It misses blessings and stifles potential. It promises that there will be too many problems. It focuses on possible pain or failure. It buries talents. So we become paralyzed where we are, no new territory is taken because nothing is ventured. There are 365 “fear nots” in the Bible. One for everyday of your year.
“And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.” Matthew 25:25-27 (NKJV)
