“But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. (James 2:18 ESV). Faith and works are not an either-or proposition. The two are to be joined inseparably. Even the demonic world has a kind of faith. They believe that there is one God, but they remain demons still. “You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!” (James 2:18 ESV). Theirs is not a faith that changes their works. It takes more than believing that there is a God to save you. It takes a faith that is transformative which expresses itself in right actions. If I believe that there is a God to whom I will give an account it will change everything I do in life, even all of my works.
