More times than we can count, children have said these lines in Christmas pageants, “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” Matthew 2:2 (KJV). This is more than child’s play. The wise men were the first Gentile worshippers of the Messiah. The wise men foreshadow the Gentile mission led by Paul. They foreshadow the time when all the Gentile nations will bow to Israel’s king. For you see, He is more than Israel’s king. He is the King of all kings, lords and governors. His Kingdom is about establishing His government among us.
