We do not create unity, but we come to the unity that exists in Christ. The unity we come to is stated this way in Eph 4:4-6 (KJV), “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” Unity is not a little thing with our Lord. It must be important to us as well. We are to make “every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” Eph 4:3 (NRSV).
“Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” Eph 4:13 (NASB).
