“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”  Drawing near is about the pursuit of the invisible God, made visible in Christ.  It is the pursuit of the divine image as revealed in the Son.  This does not come to us without our pursuit of it.  Drawing near is to “run after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14 NASB).  We “run after” lots of things;  some of these things are not to our betterment, but to our determent.  Pursue the One who came down; pursue the One who is pursuing you.  Let that be your reason for being.
