In our personal lives, we can doomscroll through our own painful memories to our great detriment.  We can go back and revisit all the hurts and pain that others have visited upon us.  We can push the button to replay old recordings that are only going to make us feel worse.  In this way we can allow the past to sabotage the present; we can allow old sorrows to rob us of the joy of the moment.  Just because these things are there does not mean we have to go back and pick them up and pick at them; we open old wounds.  Exercise self-discipline; do not go there.  Thinking through it a thousand times more will not fix it.  Release it and embrace grace.

Jesus, You have freed us from our past, grant us grace today to move on from it and leave it where you put it, in Your “sea of forgetfulness never to be remembered against us”.  Amen!
