“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him” (Acts 10:38 ESV). The Holy Spirit in Jesus was the source of His doing good. It is to be so with us. In our pride we want to be known for doing great things. God gives His Spirit so that we can do good things. People have had many of bad things to happen to them; it is so Christlike for someone to show up doing good things. The people knew that “God was with Him” because He was doing good. When in love we do good, folks just might be drawn to our Lord.
