Our bodies have an amazing ability to heal and restore themselves; this is something that God has built into the human body.  Because of this, healing may come in multiple ways.  Healing may come by better eating habits and exercise.  It may come with adequate rest.  It may come when attitudes of anger and bitterness are replaced by grace and forgiveness; inner emotional healing can be the grounds of physical healing.  Breaking chains of chemical dependency can heal.  Moving away from habitual gloom to joy and laughter heals.  Healing can come by medical or surgical interventions; it may come by physical therapy.  It may come by divine intervention.  However healing comes, God is the ultimate source.  The greatest healing is the healing of the soul from the disease of sin.

“Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. Some of the traveling teachers recently returned and made me very happy by telling me about your faithfulness and that you are living according to the truth.” 3 John 2–3 (NLT)
