There is a spirit that encourages disobedience and is involved in acts of disobedience.  The one who tempted Jesus in the wilderness entices us to sin.  These acts of disobedience are an opportunity for Satan to work further havoc in our lives.  Disobedience is more than a choice.  It corrupts us spiritually in ways we do not discern.  It has spiritual consequences.  Something evil is at work when we live in resistance to God’s way.

“In which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” Ephesians 2:2 (NIV)
