The first Exodus was more than the conquest of a land. “I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself” (Exodus 19:4b). This was love calling, calling a bride to Himself. Jesus, our Passover Lamb, is leading us in a second exodus, not to acquire houses, lands and possession, but to Jesus, a Person. We need to get this right. Christianity is beyond a moral and ethical code; it is beyond the pitiful little things we have made it. Ultimately we are called to live in relationship with the Lover of our soul.
