When the gifts we want from God become the main thing, then we proceed to try to manipulate God to get them. “Worship” then is about us, and our prayer life becomes narcissistic. To want His gifts and not want Him breaks His heart and reveals a flaw in our own heart. “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Oh Father, I desire you more than anything. If it be otherwise please show me. Amen!
