Praying for Jesus to take all of the evil out of the world is a misguided prayer. He never intended evil in the world from the beginning. He made everything good; evil is the perversion of the good. Evil has come by human choice. God wants humankind to deal with evil; He wants us to get it out of our own heart for starters. The rest is to live “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The Messiah’s kingdom is opposed to all of evil’s manifestations of unrighteousness, injustice and human cruelty; His kingdom is about advancing righteousness, justice, and human kindness. Kingdom citizens participate in this mission.
