The women went looking for the dead crucified Jesus and found the tomb empty. They learned that He was alive. Death did not have the final word on Jesus and it does not have the final word on those who believe in Him. By His death He trampled down death; by His death the old enemy death lost its sting. This Resurrection Day declares that all tombs of the saints will one day open. Tomb time will give way to the bliss and glory of God’s great tomorrow; it will be glorious beyond our most vivid imagination.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 (ESV)
