All plants and animals are dependent on the life that has gone before it. Dead organic matter feeds plants, animals and humans. Something dies that other things might live. Is that not one of the messages of the cross? Life begets life. That’s the creation story. Is this not the message of the Lord’s Supper? The Bread of Heaven has been given for the life of the world.
