“Faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26).  Dead faith won’t save us or the world.  A fear of “works righteousness” can leave us doing nothing.  Faith expresses itself by works.  Works done for our Lord are an extension of faith.  Without works, our profession of faith is vain.  Without the marriage of faith and works, there is no justification (James 1:24); there are no works done in righteousness.  The righteous practice acts of righteousness, which is living by faith (Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11).
