Humans are made in God’s image. A part of being thus made is the God-given power to be creative. It is amazing what humans have created over the course of human history. Laziness, fear and procrastination are enemies of creativity. Few people discover what they need to do by an audible voice. What do you do when you hear nothing? We have all seen talented people come to the end of their lives still waiting for a voice to tell them what to do. This is a sad misunderstanding of the divine will. Seems to me that the Father would be proud when His children take creative initiative. Creativity means that we build a life out of what we have received. If you are waiting for everything to fall to you out of a misty cloud, you may be disappointed. What is in that in your hand? What is that in your heart? What is that drumbeat you hear? It is your calling! Get to work!
“And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.” (Matthew 25:25-27 NKJV)
