According to Genesis, humans were created by the breath of God.  This puts John 20: 21-22 in perspective. “So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.’  And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’” (NASB). New creation is hanging in the air; new humanity is being forecast.  This is a testimony to who Jesus is and a witness to Trinity. This is an invitation to breath in the breath of Jesus and be made new.  This is an invitation to share His nature and to become like Him.  This is an invitation to receive the air of Heaven. It prepares us for mission.

Father, we take a deep breath of Your own Spirit, flowing to us from You, and through Your Son.  You are truly closer to us than the breath we breathe.
