The Magi “fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh” Matt 2:11. Worship prompted costly giving. Worship has become “all about us” and what the music or service “does for me”. It may have little to do with the object of worship. To present our bodies as “a living sacrifice” is our true “spiritual service of worship” (Rom 12:1-2). That’s costly.
