The Plodder And Calamity

We all need to remember why the plodding turtle won the race when the much faster rabbit came in second.  Plodders know their limitations.  They are unperturbed by the foolish and brash that run past them.  They have learned what it takes to finish the race.  They don’t scream out insults at the rabbit; they just keep on walking.  They know in their heart that it is not going to be easy.  They have learned that fretting makes it worse.  Oh my soul, you will make it, keep going; when you are out of strength you can tap into new grace.

“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.  Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.  But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31 (NLT)
