We want to be somewhere else, missing the present beauty around us.  Look for beauty where you are.  Look for ministry opportunities.  There is no one perfect place.  There is no one perfect person with whom to be.  No one’s circumstances are ideal.  Feelings of my own importance can make me think that lowly places are places where my “great talent” is wasted.  We may think, “If I had a bigger arena, it would be better.”  That is not true.  The lowest place is where Jesus went.  He found joy in washing dirty feet.  The despised cross was where He died.

Father, we are often plagued by ideas of our own greatness.  We want to be set apart above others in our own importance.  May we set ourselves apart to be below others as their, and Your, humble servant.
