If you have nothing to confess, it is because you don’t yet know yourself. You have not listened to your own soul, heard your own thinking, nor seen the roots of your behaviors. If you have nothing to confess, then you have not beheld clearly the heart of Christ in contrast to your own heart and thinking. Confession is not beating yourself up with false humility, but it is stating what needs to be corrected and by grace committing yourself to it.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much” James 5:16 (NASB).
