Jesus had a very wide healing ministry (Matthew 4:24, 9:35). It was driven by the compassion He had for people. Jesus engaged the broken as a means of bringing wholeness. Jesus was not isolated from the world with its sin and sinners. He sat with them. He ate with them. He listened to them. He did not condemn them. His love for them drew them to the redemption that they so desperately needed. We have sold our souls for the scientific methodology of “church growth”. The “methods” of Jesus defy methodology and are not methods at all. They are a way of being with fellow humans for their healing. It will be the salvation of them and the church if we will but return to it. –-“Build On The Rock”, by H. Lamar Smith
