Advent Glimpses of our Future
The Christ who came as a babe will return in clouds of glory and descend upon this earth; we call it the second advent. At His first coming angels announced His birth; an angel will trumpet His return. A star guided the wise men; He is the breaking Light for all humans. He who was born in a manger will come in clouds of glory. He who died on a Roman cross will return to reign forever. He who entered Jerusalem’s temple has now become our temple, the place where humans meet God. “Joy to the world the Lord is come, let earth receive its King”. He will return; every knee will bow before this King. Comfort one another with this blessed hope.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NASB)
